| | | | | | Most of us realize that ensuring an adequate level of life insurance is essential to providing financial security for our families. Without the right amount of life insurance, many families face the loss of their home, an essential second income, schooling opportunities, and other important basics. A guideline for determining the right amount of coverage would be 3 to 5 times your annual income - then include other fixed expenses, such as college tuition for your children and burial expenses for your funeral. In today’s competitive insurance market there are so many choices it can be difficult to know which company deserves your confidence. With most offers of term life insurance emphasizing the “lowest rate available,” it would seem that many companies have forgotten that value, service and security are just as important as a competitive rate. If you are insured through your affinity group plan, you can be sure that you are covered by a company who will be able to deliver on their insurance promises-and still have the advantage of a competitive rate through the strength of group participation. | | | | Top | | | | Plan Advantages | | | | Portable - unlike coverage through an employer, once you have been covered for 2 years this plan will not terminate if you change jobs! | | | | Pure Insurance - this plan does not build cash values nor is it attached to a savings fund but rather it is pure insurance coverage. This is an affordable opportunity to reassess your situation if you’ve recently married, divorced, started a family, sent children to school or started paying on a mortgage or large loan. | | | | Automatic Payroll Deduction - your coverage will be automatically deducted from your paycheck on a monthly or tenthly basis. |
| | | | Top | | | | Extra Plan Features | | | | NON-TOBACCO USER DISCOUNT For those applicants who have not used tobacco products in the past 12 months there is a preferred “non-tobacco user” rate. See the rate chart for more details. | | | | LIVING BENEFITS FEATURE Sometimes there is a need for life insurance proceeds even before a death occurs. This plan provision will ensure that, if you or your covered spouse become Terminally Ill, you will be able to access needed funds by advancing a portion of your life insurance proceeds up to 50% of the total benefit amount. “Terminally Ill” means that, as a result of your or your covered spouse’s medical condition, life expectancy is twelve months or less. Once approved, benefits are paid in a lump sum. Of course, benefit amounts paid under the Living Benefits Feature will reduce the amount of life insurance in force with the reduced amount payable at the time of death. YOU SHOULD CONSULT YOUR TAX ADVISOR REGARDING THE TAX STATUS OF BENEFITS PAID UNDER THE LIVING BENEFITS FEATURE. |
| | | | Top | | | | Waiver Of Premium | | | | It is important to keep your insurance in force by paying your premium. However, we realize that in the event of a total disability there can be financial hardship. This is why after 6 months of total disability prior to age 60, all premium payments will be waived during your disability so that your insurance may continue when you need it the most. Waiver of premium will end when you are no longer totally disabled, do not provide proof of total disability or any termination provision otherwise applies. Total Disability means that you cannot, due to sickness or injury, do any type of work for which you are qualified by reason of education, experience or training. If you are not employed, Total Disability will mean that you cannot, due to sickness or injury, perform the usual or customary activities of a healthy person of the same age and sex. |
